The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly happening.
